Straighten your tie, a “Suits” reunion is underway.
The 2024 ATX Festival will mark the five-year anniversary of the “Suits” series finale with a panel featuring the cast and showrunner of “Suits,” which has recently found a streaming resurgence on Netflix. Creator Aaron Korsh, along with actors Sarah Rafferty, Patrick J Adams, and Dulé Hill, will be in conversation during Season 13 of the Austin-based festival. More cast members will be announced.
“Suits” spent 12 consecutive weeks this year as the number one show on Nielsen’s overall streaming chart. A new “Suits” series that is set in the same universe is currently in development at UCP. Original series star Meghan Markle said during Variety’s Power of Women event (via Rolling Stone) that “Suits” was an “everlasting” series.
“It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew,” the Duchess of Sussex said. “We had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it’s hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting.”
Markle admitted, though, that she has “no idea” why the “Suits” resurgence happened.
The ATX TV Festival will take place from May 30 through June 2, 2024. The weekend-long TV festival will also feature a panel with the cast and creatives of “Halt and Catch Fire” to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the AMC series premiere. Showrunners Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers, executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, and cast member Scoot McNairy will be in conversation, with additional panelists announced soon.
In addition to the retrospective panels, the ATX Festival 2024 will host “Presidential Forum: On TV, the Industry and What’s Next,” a rare conversation with TV’s top executives from studios including Paramount, NBCUniversal, Sony Pictures Television Studios, and more about the future of the industry after the SAG and WGA strikes. Panelists include Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount Television Studios; Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Entertainment; Erin Underhill, President, Universal Television; and Katherine Pope, President, Sony Pictures Television Studios, with additional panelists to be announced soon.
The upcoming ATX Festival will additionally feature confirmed panels David Hudgins (Showrunner/Writer/Executive Producer, “FBI: Most Wanted”), Graham Yost (Showrunner, “Silo”), and Jessica Rhoades (Executive Producer, “Black Mirror,” “Station Eleven”).
The ATX Festival 2023 previously had slated a “Dawson’s Creek” panel that was canceled due to the WGA strike. Instead, Damon Lindelof and Beau Willimon spoke about the importance of the Writers’ Guild.
