‘The Chosen’ Season 4 Finally Announces Streaming Premiere

Prayers have been answered for fans of the Biblical epic “The Chosen”: The show’s fourth season will finally livestream episodes beginning Sunday, June 2, at 7 p.m. ET on social media and The Chosen app. Episodes will then be available on the app until making their debut on additional viewing platforms still to be announced.

“The wait is finally over. The response from those who’ve seen Season 4 in theaters was that this is our best season, so I can’t wait to deliver these episodes free and easy to the world,” Dallas Jenkins, “the Chosen” creator, producer, director, and writer, in a statement.

Episodes will premiere every Sunday at 7 p.m. ET and every Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET throughout June.

Based on the life of Jesus Christ, “The Chosen” has proven to be a remarkably popular and versatile series. “The Chosen” originally streamed on Angel Studios’ platform before it was licensed to mainstream streamers Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, and Netflix. In addition to The Chosen app, episodes released in movie theaters have routinely outperformed major feature film releases. Season 4 made its debut in movie theaters earlier this year, marking the series’ most successful theatrical run yet.

Fans have long wondered why it has remained absent from streaming services; during a livestream on April 21, Jenkins said, “We’re doing everything that we can to give Season 4 to you as early as we can, as cheaply as we can. But unfortunately, there are some legal matters we are dealing with. I can’t get into the details.”

The fourth season was available to stream at churches and prisons after its theatrical run.

“We wanted to offer fans a chance to see it on the big screen together in theaters,” Jenkins continued in the statement. “But I’ve maintained the show will always ultimately be available free and easy, and we’re now ready for our livestreams, which are going to be bonkers this year.”

Viewers can watch the series for free in The Chosen app, available for download on streaming players. Additional viewing options for Season 4 viewing will be announced soon.
